I recently purchased and installed a Chromecast for my tv in my bedroom which works really well however it tends to be a little cumbersome to work with Tversity.
My Setup is a mediaserver pc running tversity, an android tablet and a chromecast on my tv.
If I use an android application such as localcast what happens (I think?) is that tversity thinks that it is sending the video for display on an android tablet and transcodes the video in a format to best suit the tablet. However in a lot of cases this video format is not suitable for the Chromecast and it will display an error on screen.
If I view the tversity media library in a web browser and use the web browser chromecast plugin to cast directly from tversity to the chromecast the video plays fine as it is transcoded into a format to suit the chomecast.
Unfortunately the chromecast web browser plugins will not work with any android browser I have found which means that the only way I can play media on my chromecast is to use my tablet to VNC to my media server, open a web browser on the mediaserver and then use that to cast the media to the chromecast.
This is obviously a little cumbersome.
Does anyone know of a better way?
