I know that there are already some threads about that, but i still havent found the latest knews about that problem. My plan actually is to ripp all my dvds to hdd using shrink.I want to stream the ts ifo files to my x box 360.Yesterday i set up the t versity on my pc and i was able to stream single vob files to my x box 360. But of course its a pain to deal with single files. I want to be able to stream the whole dvd including menu. Also didnt work the 5.1 sound. I only was able to hear stereo. In ffd show audio decoder the speaker set up is on 5.1. I use the ac3 codec from ac3.net.Is ist possible at all to handle to play a whole dvd ts file and get 5.1 with vob to work or do i have to use a total kind of set up like popcorn hour client with a nas or pc server. As far as i know popcorn is able to handle ts_dvd files and 5.1.Thx for any informationMarops Thx for the very helpfull informations how to set up tversity from iukini
Rip to something that streams to the 360 without transcoding. I realize that when you want to watch it on the PC a DVD-like file has more control, but if you'll stream them most often, it's just a waste of time not going for WMV9 or divx...
First, let's know something about IFO BUP VOB.VOB (Video OBjects): VOB is the container format in DVD-Video media, which contains digital video & audio, subtitles, DVD menus and navigation contents multiplexed together into a stream form.IFO (InFOrmation): IFO file is an important document to control the VOB file playback process.BUP (BackUP): The BUP file is exactly the same as the IFO file, which is a backup of the IFO file.source from http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/bup-ifo-vob-converter.html Then, a lot of discussion about streaming service has to do with the picture quality and little or none on the audio! The audio being the other half of a home theater system is somewhat ignored about how to get Dolby 5.1 from a streaming service such as Netflix.source from https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/5-1-audio-on-streaming-service-555732/so, do you understand?
