Ok, I’ve been able to successfully stream HD .mkv files to my Xbox 360, but the problem now is that the damn thing buffers every minute or so. I realize this is because there’s a transcoding lag, even with my Quad Core CPU and 2 GB DDR2 RAM! Now, the only fix I’ve found on these forums that actually works is to simply start the video, and then pause it for like 30 minutes…after un-pausing, it pretty much streams the whole mkv fine, since the transcoding buffer is nice and full. However, it’s a royal pain to have to fire up my xbox, start the movie, then pause it, switch to regular TV, and wait 30+ minutes every time I wanna watch an HD movie…which leads me to my question:
Since TVersity is doing the transcoding from MKV to WMV anyway (albeit on-the-fly), how do I just transcode the damn MKV to an outputted WMV file without first playing it on my xbox and pausing it?!
If that’s not possible (it logically should be!), does anyone know of a really good MKV to WMV converter that wouldn’t produce any loss in quality after the conversion?
