I have some MP4s that I have encoded from a DVD I own. They used to play fine on my PS3 through Tversity (versions 2.5 and before), but now since I've upgraded to 3.5 and now 3.7.1 Free they aren't recognised by my PS3.
I copied the same files to an external HDD and they played perfectly through the PS3 so the files are fine.
It only affects some MP4s even though I use identical settings for ripping my MP4s - so some identically encoded ones will work while these ones don't.
And incidentally, these same files stream fine through to my Samsung Smart TV using Tversity.
I am running Vista Business x64 SP2.
I have a few codecs installed but of course as the free version this should be irrelevant?
It plays through my PS3 and it is correctly recognised by Tversity.
Both devices are hardwired through my broadband router on Cat 6 cabling.
Am considering upgrading to paid but only if I can fix this problem!
Any thoughts / input gratefully received.
Cheers
