Hi ronenmiz, First thanks for such a nice answers.
About the AC3 It doesnt work for me, as I said I have all the needed codecs but it doesnt transcode in 5.1 but 2.0, anyway I can wait for new versions to come out, after all in this first release is working already very good.
For the Divx part, it did actually worked better (not perfect) after installing WMP11.
Very cool machine! Can you do us the favor of telling us what is the top resolution you can get TVersity to transcode an HD video to, in real-time? I understand that 1280x720H.264 to 1280x720 WMV is a stretch but it is getting really close? or am I mistaken? Can you also try 1280x720 Divx to 1280x720 WMV?
I dont Know if I understood you, but I set the max resolution in the transcoding setting to 1280x720 and my x264 files is 1280x544 and the transcode worked Flawlesly, almost perfect, I paused the file for a couple of minutes and watched almost all the lord of the rings movie without a problem and the resolution was awesome.
I tested a Divx but the biggest one I had 960x544 and it worked good too but had some stop issues as the computer didnt transcode fast enough.
After testing your program I got curious about all this transcode on the fly process and installed Windows MC just to test Vlc360 just for curiosity, I am not critizing your program just telling my founds.
Vlc360 seems to transcode better the Divx and Xvid movies, faster and with more quality than Tversity, It was quite obvious with the Batman Begins movie I was testing, I understand is the first beta version, so I am sure the quality can be improved, if you guys are able to optimize a little bit more the quality and speed of the transcode it will be very very good.
Of course VLC360 didnt handle the x264 files while your program did.
For the sound I get sound from the AC3 movies without problem, what i mean is that the sound is transcode to Stereo, it would be nice to transcode it WMA 5.1 that is what the Xbox360 seems to handle for 5.1 sound.
Well let me know if you need me to test anything else, I will be more than glad to keep helping your group to make this possible, I believe that any 3.0Ghz dual core can Handle HD content without problem, I believe the only problem is a little more tweaking here and there.
One more time, THANKS A LOT!!!
