You can try and help me Wink I've got everything working fine except video with AC3 5.1 sound ... either I get no sound from the file or it's too quiet. It plays find on WMP. Any suggestions?
Try installing a different AC3 directshow filter or even just configure the ffdshow audio decoder to handle AC3. You should be able to get stereo sound for AC3 so do not give up on this. Future versions will let you keep the surround sound.

You can't FF or RW it while transcoding, but once it's finished you can. However, pausing and playing both work.

Hmm, some video's play now... Xvid works, but DivX does not...

I have the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack installed for codecs. Could that be the reason?

Hello hope you can help when i try this i get an error saying that the 360 cant read this format. I can see the videos theres like 1000 but they wont play.

I follow these steps:

Right here's my official guide to getting this working.

First of all, go and download WMP 11 here:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... 86-enu.exe

After that, you want to go over here and get Tversity:

http://s3.amazonaws.com/www.tversity.com/download.html

Get the very latest build, and install it. If your 360 is having trouble seeing it, try and open the 41952 port in your firewall, as well as the Tversity exe's, which is quite easy in the windows firewall, and I recommend exploring them. If you have any issues with this, go to the following:

http://s3.amazonaws.com/www.tversity.co ... ooting-faq

Now, you need the patch for 360 transcoding, which is available here:

http://s3.amazonaws.com/download.tversi ... _9_8_4.zip

Installing the Patch:
- Stop Tversity
- Extract the content of the patch zip file into the installation folder of TVersity (by default it is \Program Files\TVersity\Media Server)
- Start TVersity, go to the 360 and browse your computer for videos. You should now see all the videos shared via TVersity plus all the online video URLs and assuming your directshow has the filters needed to decode these videos they should all play on the 360.

Nearly there now squires, get the FFDShow codec you want here:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download_sof ... =2631&s=50

To install this, stop Tversity and just run the exe inside the zip file, and go through it, and don't untick anything you shouldn't.

Finally, start Tversity, and add DivX files or folders containing them, and feel the full force of the transcode on your PC (it likes CPU's and it cannot lie), and on your eyes and ears as this is absolutely awesome on your 360.

I have an issue with this its dosnt seem to work right:

assuming your directshow has the filters needed to decode these videos they should all play on the 360.

What is Direct Show and hwo do check these filters?

This also?
get the FFDShow codec you want here:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download_sof ... =2631&s=50

To install this, stop Tversity and just run the exe inside the zip file, and go through it, and don't untick anything you shouldn't.

It dosnt seem to work.

Please help THX

this thread:
http://forums.tversity.com/viewtopic.php?t=2934
says in part:

1. The new version of TVersity has an excellent GUI that you can use to test streaming of movies. Basically, if you navigate through your shared media via the TVersity GUI itself and click a video to play it from there, TVersity will stream the movie locally to WMP 11 and will transcode it exactly the same as if it was streaming to the 360. This is important because it means that if it doesn't play via the TVersity GUI on the local PC then IT WILL NOT STREAM TO THE 360. This is how I troubleshoot. My 360 is downstairs and my PC is in my study, so it's a pain to keep running back and forward and I find it very useful to use the GUI to troubleshoot problem files.

also, use the newest beta here:

I'm having a weird problem. I got the Xbox to recognize the TVersity server for about 10 seconds, but when I try to connect it times out saying it might be a firewall issue. I can connect to http://localhost:41952/ just fine and the WMP11 service is off. It just seems like the xbox doesn't want to communicate with it even though i can sign on to xbox live etc. Can anyone help me?

XBOX 360 not seeing my files

Postby viclaster on Tue Nov 28, 2006 10:00 pm

I followed the guide exaclty, but my XBOX 360 will not display any videos in the "Media" "Video" section. I select "Computer" to view but nothing comes up. I have mostly .AVI and .MPG/MPEG files in my videos section. I have shared those on TVersity, but I still can see nothing. I also have disabled my Norton Firewall. Any help will be appreciated.

uninstall the program, then install the newest beta (see my post up a few).

Not sure if it helped, but I set my TVersity settings to force it to expect an XBox 360.
