Error 69-C00D002F when trying to play h264 encoded mp4 files

Postby mdoty1 » Sun Sep 06, 2009 1:38 pm

I am hoping someone her might be able to help me with this problem. When ever I try to play an mp4 file that has been encoded using the h264 codec I get a message on the 350 that says "Can't play this content because it may not be supported. For more info go to www.xbox.com/support. Error code Error 69-C00D002F."

The files I am trying to play have worked before. I do not know excatly when they stopped working. I have searched through the message bords and have tried each of the suggestions that I have found and none have worked. I have un-installed the codecs that were on my computer and then installed the ones suggested one at a time, I have tried re-installing Media Player, I have tried setting TVversity to always transcode and to never transcode. Nothing has worked.

The files pay in Media Player without any problems.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

I used to have issues playing H264 when I was NOT logged into Xbox LIVE.

Those error messages TOLD me to log in, though...

Have you deleted and reinstalled the Media Update on your Xbox?

you can find instructions on how to do this here

Edit: sorry forgot to mention you MUST have a Xbox LIVE account to get the Media Update.
