No support for tversity Pro

Postby baalbergen » Sat Jul 24, 2010 9:54 am

I have been using tversity for sometime now, and up till now it has been free, so I had no issues with the lack of support. I just recently upgraded to the paid pro version, I already had pro but it was free. I did so for the iPhone streaming and premium web content. I haven't been able to get either to work. I have posted to the forum with no response. When you read the forum rules it basically states that the forum is for user to help each other and you should consider yourself lucky if you get a reply from a tversity member. I will probably attempt to get a refund if I can figure out how. It is a shame because I just want it to work the way you advertise, and with a little help I sure it would.

Some problems have cut-and-dried solutions I can rattle off. I don't recall fixes for your issues so I've kinda left them for someone else to handle and apparently that's not happening. Not sure what to do about it...

What motivated me to post is reading a post just a few below were I posted that mentiomed the exact same symptom I have and you stated that having the audio play through the computer meant that something was fundamentaly wrong and you offered to help him trouble shoot it. At the very least it would be nice to have you confirm wether it is normal or not for audio to play through the computer during streeming. As i said it has always done that to me. I also in my post asked how you add the premium web content advertised when I paid for the upgrade. I would sure hope you could help explain how to do something that you advertise as a core feature. In searching for the answer myself I have found several posts of people asking the same question with no answer, how do we add this advertised premium web content?! The fact is when tversity was free I wouldn't even think of complaining about the lack of customer service, but now that you are charging for your service I really think you need to have email support for your premum members. You definately need to explain how to add the premium web content you advertise. Is this a feature in progress? Did you jump the gun on stating that you could add cbs, nbc, and all the others in the list? I am holding off on getting a refund because I really want it to work, but so far I haven't been able to use any of the extra features I paid for. Please respond and give me something.

An old 'bug' is that the audio part of Internet transcoding was played on the PC's speakers. So a fix was added to mute the speakers but people report NO audio sometimes like the fix isn't all that great. So yes, you might hear audio you don't want, but it kinda has to be there so you can mute it but I'm not sure that's what you want since not having it be there might be better. I don't have the problem since I don't transcode Internet stuff so I'm not current on the status and hopefully someone who knows something will speak up.

And all that 'you' stuff is aimed at the wrong person. I just delete spam and answer what I can. Ronen is the only TVersity person here so maybe he'll respond...

Sorry, I looked a the post I was referring to and noticed that it wasn't you, that replied. Thank you for the information you did give that is helpful. I wish I could find the post about that patch/fix you spoke of so I could at least play with it. Do you know anything about this premium web content issue? I feel like I must be missing something obvious, because I just find it hard to believe that a feature that is advertised like it is simply doesn't exist. I do know that you can find links to specific feeds and add them in as video rss feeds, but I believe that you could do that with the free version, and premium web content is advertised as pro only. Also if that is what is meant be adding premium web content that means you would have to add a link to each specific feed/episode. Unlike say hulu where you can search recently added and the such. When I upgraded I expected to see these new premium online content features in the guide just like hulu and the others. Any info you have is appreciated.

I don't do anything Premium so I leave those questions to be answered by someone who does.

The fix for the audio (making the PC shut up) was built-in to TVersity. There's no separate file I know of. Why it's hit-and-miss working right across different computers is like how TVersity fails to run correctly for some people: hard luck. TVersity seems to me to be like a device driver, and those sometimes just don't work. Not sure what to do if reinstalling doesn't make the magic happen...

I am also a Pro purchaser and I too have been searching for instructions on how to get premium web content through tversity, specifically CBS.com. I have been searching for a LONG time. Just search for "CBS" and you will see all my posts. I even tried to bump several other posts from other people with the same problems, but the moderators deleted my posts as spam. Which is really irritating that they were able to respond to me by deleting my posts and warning me to not post too much, but they were NOT able to answer my questions. I have downloaded snoopers. I have tried rss feeds, internet video urls, I have searched and searched, both on this forum and more generally on Google. There seem to be a lot of people on here giving a lot of answers to a lot of questions, but it doesn't seem that anyone knows how to get tversity to stream premium content other than Hulu. Yeah, Hulu works great. But I wouldn't have bought the software if all it did was stream Hulu. I was expecting to get CBS.com and others AS ADVERTISED.

Who is Ronen? Is he the one who knows how to get CBS.com to work??

I'm not sure you'll get step-by-step directions from Ronen since his time to drop by here is limited due to TVersity development stuff. What might help is if you post the CBS.com links that you are trying to use so somebody might, possibly, find something you need to change...

mikepaul, I did already put a link in the post titled: "CBS.com videos load but don't play". It's an RSS feed generated by Hulu. I think I remember posting a link or two in some other places, but I can't find them. I also recently bumped that post.
