Postby zero80472 on Fri Oct 09, 2009 5:00 pm

Hi guys Just fixed the problem people have been having with mkv files that have subtitles embeded with them so i am going to Make a guide on how to fix this
step 1
Uninstall ALL CODECS packs Includes TVverstys one
step 2
Uninstall Tvversty
step 3
Download CCCP Insurgent program to make sure theres no codec packs left
step 4
Download CCCP and install it
when it asks you what you want to install Take VSfliter off and Hallis media spliter
onces its installed
step 5
Download and install ac3filter
step 6
download and install matroska splitter
step 7
Open FFDshows Audio config pack
in the codec pages go to Ac3,AAC and put it to disabled (this stops ffdshow form handling AC3 and ACC audio codecs
step 8
Open FFDShows Video config and go to subtitiles
Select (check):
Accept embedded subtitles
Accept SSA, ASS, and ASS2 subtitles (experimental)
Decode closed captions
Onces thats done
step 9
In the same MENU GOT VOBSUB AND ENABLE OBAY POSSITION FROM SUBTITLE PAGE
step 10
install TVversty without the tversty codec pack and tell it not to start the tversty media server
step 11
now we need to set tversty to run under the account your using (eg mine is zero)
to do this go to start and type services (or you can right click on computer and go to manage)
once in the services menu go to Tversty media server and dobble click on it once in there
now go to the logon tab and use click on this account put your username (for your pc eg mine is zero ) and for password You need to have a password (so make one on your account ) once this is done your nearly there
step 12
on the same menu as above go to gernral and start the service (this way tversrty wont give you problems )

step 13
now run tversrty up and go to settings ,transcoder make sure you set it to always transcode also put the video resaulation and picture resaluation to 1280 by 720p once thats done your raday to go all you need to do now is have a mkv with subtitles
thats you done
MKV with subtitles Should now work on the xbox and anyother deivce

i will be making a video tutoral soon so wait till then if you cant follows thease steps

also sorry for my spelling

It works! Thank you so , so much !

However now I've no picture on my PC. An idea what I should change so I don't fubar up the subtitles?
Restarted PC and only media player seems to be working correctly.

It may take some trying to have all possible instances of ffdshow use the settings that say subtitles are on. There are lots of threads on how the way TVersity invokes ffdshow isn't working the way folks want. I have no idea if it'll ever improve...

Doesn't work. In fact I did try starting with files ( avi ) that I know work, went for about 3 minutes, stopped, then all of a sudden, I can't even see my folders on xbox .

Tried uninstalling and re-installin tversity, now that doesn't work, meaning won't install. So now NOTHING works.

Should not have followed this, at least 95% of my vids streamed and or transcoded, only certain mp4 with 2 audio tracks and MKV files wouldnt work, now I can't even put tversity on my computer.

What did you set the encoder to? (use fddshow, or windows media video x)
